Opal Part Change Notification

Implementation Date: Delayed until 2015 due to additional stock of KSZ8051 being made available.  PCN 1.2 is being implemented before so the PHY change is now designated PCN-1.3.

Description: On-board Ethernet PHY has changed from Micrel KSZ8051 to KSZ8081.  The KSZ8081 is a direct replacement and the operation and specification of the Opal module will not change.

Reason for change: KSZ8051 is end-of-life

Customer action required: The KSZ8081 has a different internal ID reported to the software.  Windows Embedded Compact BSP code obtained after the date of this document will include a driver update that works with both the old and new PHYs.
